Learn how to create and manage your treatment groups

Updated over a week ago

Creating and managing treatment groups is a crucial component of every experiment. This can be done easily to ensure that all of the required information is captured.

Creating Groups

Treatment groups can be created when going through the study creation process or from the Treatment groups page if the study is underway.

Click "Add treatment groups" to get started.

A modal will appear that enables you to enter all of your group information. This contains basic spreadsheet functionality to ensure that you can quickly navigate through and easily copy and paste if required.

Each row is a different study group and each column is a different piece of information about the study group.

Adding groups

To add groups, we only require two fields: Name and No. of animals.

To create new groups, type or paste group information into the last row in the table and press enter. Rows can also be added by dragging down within the table and through copy and paste from MS Excel.

To add new metadata columns to your groups, click "Add metadata" to open the "Add Columns" modal from which you can search for and select the fields to be added to your groups.

N.B: These categories must be assigned in advance and can only be done by your team administrators. More information on how this can be done is found here.

When a new row is added, a display color will be automatically assigned to each new group. To change the color assigned to a group, double click into the first cell in the row to reveal our custom color picker. Select your preferred color or click the circle in the top right hand corner of the color picker for a random color and click 'Save'.

Removing Groups

To remove rows, right click on the row(s) to be deleted and click "Remove row" from the menu.

After you have created your groups click on the treatments tab header to create treatments and then assign the treatments to your groups in the Configuration tab.
