Create Treatments

Setup the dosing information for the treatments in your study.

Updated over a week ago

Creating a study or inside of a study, you should see the Treatment Groups page link in the study navigation bar. In this page click on the treatments tab to get started.

Click Add New to add the first treatment to your study. You can then start typing the treatment name to see a list of available options. If the treatment you are looking for is not there, please ensure that your team administrator has added it to your Team Glossary.

Use the next dropdown menu to select the dosing method. This can either be:

  • Standard volume - all animals will be treated with the same volume.

  • Standard concentration - animals will be treated with the same concentration and with the volume varying depending on animal weight and stock concentration.

  • Standard concentration (ml/kg) - animals will be treated with the same concentration and with the volume varying depending on animal weight only. If using this method, stock concentration is not required.

  • Custom - animals will be treated with the same dose and volume without reference to body weight.

Note: When using custom dosing, the dose and volume fields are optional and so can be left empty. However, if one or both of these fields require values entered at the time of dosing, selecting the correct units from the drop down menus and checking the "required" check box ensures that the user inputs a value to be able to administer the dose in workflow. Click here for more information.

After selecting the correct method, enter relevant information such as dose concentration, stock concentration or dose volume and click Add treatment.

As you add more treatments to your study, they will show in the table in the Treatments tab. These can be assigned to groups in the Configuration tab.

Editing and deleting treatments

When creating a study you can easily amend treatments by hovering over the name of the treatment in the table to reveal options to edit or delete.

In the treatments table of a study edit the treatment by clicking on the treatment name and delete by selecting the treatment and using the Bulk actions menu to delete.

Duplicating treatments

When carrying out a study with multiple doses of the same test article you can use "Duplicate" to create an exact copy of a treatment and then click on the treatment name to edit the dose as required.
