Learn how metadata is used within Overwatch

Updated over a week ago

We work with lots of different laboratories who have many different requirements. For example, one laboratory may wish to store study information such as cell line and cell number; whereas another may want to store protocol or IACUC information.

To enable this, we store all of these details as metadata that can be selected during either study creation or within the study settings.

Metadata will always be associated with your study and can be accessed when performing other actions. An example is printing cage cards, where you have the opportunity to select four metadata fields to appear on each card. Alternatively, Group metadata can be assigned when creating or editing your study groups. Available metadata categories and values can be managed using the Glossary feature.
